SAT Math Solved!

Relieve Stress,   Promote Understanding,  Build Skills,  Maximize Efficiency

A New Approach

To get top scores in SAT math or improve the score by 100 or more points,  students should first check their math skills tool box.  Rusty skills in key areas such as the solution to quadratic equations, or two variable linear equations could be very costly.  We recommend a comprehensive review of math contents by topics.

Compared with older version SAT (2005 – 2016), the current SAT math deals with fewer advanced math concepts and skills.  So there are often only a handful areas that most likely cause difficulties for students. Personalized assessment and analysis are invaluable to identify areas for improvement and help students focus their effort where it matters the most. Because the importance of accurate assessment we offer standalone “assessment and analysis”to help students diagnose their weak spots and form the most effective study plans.

At New Knowledge, equipped with the experience and insights gained from working with our students we have developed specialized skill templates to help students quickly build up skills.  This repeated cycle of “assess – analyze – focus” enabled the most rapid progress we witnessed in our students – often we witnessed students improve their math score by 100 or more with 10 hour instruction time (not counting the practice tests) compared with the typical 40 hour preparation time for similar results.

Even though this focused approach can improve efficiency and produce great result, we encourage our students to start the SAT prep early in the spring of sophomore year. This allows ample time to not only sufficiently learn testing skills but also understand the concepts more deeply and master the skills to build a larger tool box.  In future blogs, we will address interesting topics such as how to solve the word problems with confidence, like a pro!
